Guest Speaker: James Vasile
James has been involved in promoting legal and social structures for the sharing of culture and technology for over a decade. A graduate of Columbia Law School and formerly with Cravath, Swaine & Moore, James is currently counsel at the Software Freedom Law Center, where he provides legal services to high-impact Free Software projects. He is a member of the board of Open Source Matters (the non-profit behind Joomla) and a member of the advisory board to the GNOME Foundation. James has written and consulted extensively on free software and free culture and is a regular speaker at industry events including LinuxWorld, GUADEC and Joomla Days. James is also a hacker himself, programming since high school and currently writing code for the Book Liberator.
